Trip Planner FAQ — Helpful Tips Before You Submit
Absolutely! In the Extra Notes field, you can list multiple cities or stops — for example if the Destination is Italy, you can say:
“We’ll visit Rome, Florence, and Venice. Please break it down by city.”
This helps generate an itinerary that flows naturally from one location to the next.
Yes — use the Extra Notes field to let us know, like:
“Start slow for the first two days, then pick up the pace.”
or
“Fast pace in Paris, slower in the countryside.”
Google Maps – Best global coverage, especially for walking and transit. Opens directly in the Google Maps app on mobile, whether from the browser or PDF. On desktop, it opens in your web browser — no extra steps needed.
Apple Maps – Great for iOS users, clean interface.
Gaode Maps (Amap App) – Best for mainland China, with detailed POIs in Chinese.
👉 For tips on using Gaode Maps properly, see the next question.
If you’re in China, Gaode is the best navigation app — widely used and very accurate. Learn more here.
Gaode Maps is app-based, so it works best on mobile devices with the Amap app installed. Here’s how to get the smoothest experience:
> Option 1 (Recommended):
Using the itinerary on a mobile web browser (not the PDF) will open Gaode links directly in the Amap app — this is the most seamless option.
✅ Tip: Open the itinerary in your phone browser and keep that tab open during your trip.
> Option 2:
If you’re using the PDF version, Gaode links will first redirect to the browser and then prompt you to open the Amap app.
To improve accuracy, open the Amap app once beforehand and search for the city or destination you’re visiting. This sets the app’s context, so future searches from links work better.
In the rare case that a web link still shows no results in the app, cut and paste the place name and city (e.g., “The Bund, Shanghai”) from the Search Nearby bar where it’s populated into the app’s main search bar.
⚠️ This process is less seamless than Google or Apple Maps due to app limitations with PDF support.
📌 Why not use full addresses?
Gaode — like Google and Apple Maps — works best with place names for tourist attractions (e.g., “The Bund, Shanghai”) rather than full street addresses — especially across different countries. That’s why the map links uses the format: Place Name, City.
The easiest and most accurate way is to write your preferred language in the Extra Notes field:
“Please write the itinerary in Spanish.”
This ensures both the on-screen result and the PDF are generated in that language.
Yes — if you ask for a specific language in the Extra Notes, we generate the full PDF in that language too.
